About Us

Please note: The professional association and union of which we are dues paying members has enacted policies which forbid us from disclosing its name on our web site.  Rather than risk further retaliation or litigation against us, we are complying with this policy at the present time even though we feel it is a violation of our free speech rights.  We pledge to be as transparent as possible and we ask our visitors' understanding in this regard.  We hope to obtain further support and assistance in the future to enable more complete disclosure without fear of retribution.

New York Nurses United is a rank and file caucus of New York nurses, not affiliated with any other organization or union.

We believe in a strong professional association and union for registered nurses to advance our profession and promote healthcare reform.  We desire to achieve the highest quality in our nursing practice and in the representation of registered nurses in our workplace environments. 

We believe that our organizations must be member driven and function in a democratic and transparent manner in order to accomplish these objectives.  Only then will we be able to fully realize the collective power of our membership.

We welcome any members who share these beliefs to join us.
